Where to go and when in Portugal - useful tips

Undoubtedly everyone who decides to travel Portugal ask himself/herself a question where to go and when. Here are some recommendations which hopefully will help you to make your choice. It's rather difficult to state that this or that season is the best seasons for visiting the country. If you travel Portugal and you want to spend your time lying on a beach and bathing in sun rays, you'd better choose the period from June to September. But notice that average temperature during these months is above 30 C° and resorts are nearly overcrowded with people. Early autumn and late spring are by right can be called the nicest periods to travel Portugal. The weather within this period is always warm and stable and you won't be languid with the heat and suffer from constant crowds of people. The period from January to March is a ski season in Portugal. February is the best month of ski season and one more important thing is that during the winter there are not so many tourists at all and you'll have a perfect opportunity to see Portugal as it is in reality.

Summer is a perfect period for visiting one of the best resorts in Portugal Algarve and it's capital Fado. Algarve's golden sands, bright sun and crystal-clean water will always attract visitors. In Fado you can see the Cathedral (Sé), Archaeological Museum and Carmo Church.

Another place we suggest that you visit while travelling around Portugal is Porto. Porto is the second largest city in the country, today it's an industrial city but still there are many attractions which are worth seeing. Among them the Church of São Francisco (rococo style), the Cais da Ribeira, the old waterside with lots of excursion caters with restaurants and cafés.
